Visit Seven Mile Beach
Iconic and pristine beach ideal for relaxation, swimming, and beachfront dining. One of the consistently top rated beaches of the world.
My favorite dining near Seven Mile:
For the best meal of your trip: Abacus - this was my favorite meal of the trip. Known for their caribbean lobster & it does NOT miss. I got the risotto and it was absolutely perfection. They also do an all-you-can-eat lobster on certain nights. Be sure to make a reservation for here.
For a stunning sunset view: Bonny Moon Beach Club - a beautiful beachfront restaurant where you can actually enjoy your meal with your feet in the sand (or in their artfully designed indoor space). a little bit for everyone - sushi to burgers to salads and more. Go for sunset, reservations recommended.
For a special occasion: Beach House - fine dining on the Westin's property, this upscale restaurant is perfect for special occasions, their flaming bananas foster dessert, delicious seafood options, and a beautiful view of the beach.
Staying on Seven Mile: This was my second visit to Grand Cayman, and I stayed at the beautiful, beachfront Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa. I could not recommend this hotel enough! It's got everything you need for relaxing on the white sand beach (think: lounge chair, umbrellas, servers with piña coladas and margaritas in tow) to exploring the island's dining (think: highly rated on-site cuisine, proximity to nearby restaurants, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner options) to a pool, complete with a bar, and water sports for rent. Tbh, you really could just stay in this resort's little bubble, but if you prefer wandering it's location is perfect for exploring as well.

Explore Stingray City & Snorkel with Stingrays!
Unique experience of interacting with friendly wild stingrays in shallow waters. A boat will take you to the famous sandbar where the stingrays have been fed daily for so long that they're as friendly as pets!
Local tip: If you go with a guide, they will show you how to hold the stringrays, and you can give them a kiss for "seven years of good luck".
Advice: Bring a snorkel and mask to get the best views of the stingrays! It's easier to see them clearly through a mask even if you don't actually swim (i.e. dunking you head into the water) - No need to be a strong swimmer here. The water is shallow enough in places that you'll be able to stand.
Snorkeling and Diving Adventures
Some of my favorite snorkeling on the island can be done at the public Cemetery Beach and the excuisite public beach cove - Smith's Bacaradere.
Note that equipment rental options are not available at either of these spots as they are free to access public beaches. I'd recommend renting gear for the day at your hotel or nearby surf shop or by taking a guided snorkeling tour.
Smith's Bacaradere (Smith's Cove)
I touched on Smith's Cove a little above, but this spot really deserves more. It is an incredibly quiet, beautiful little hidden gem where you can swim, snorkel, and even jump off the rocks that make up the cove (cautiously at your own risk of course). Spending a half day here is a perfect little detour from the crowds, and it was a personal highlight of my trip. So, hop in a taxi and tell them to take you here!
Starfish Point
Looking for starfish? Look no further! This is the famous spot where giant starfish are generally plentiful. Though I didn't get a chance to revisit this spot on my most recent trip, it was a highlight of my trip prior. Please note that starfish need the ocean to survive so be very careful if you decide to pick one up and try not to expose it to the air.

This popular beach features snorkeling & water sports, plus bars, concessions & facilities. It's located a short distance from Starfish Point and is sometimes included in excursions with Stingray City.

An educational and interactive experience with sea turtles and other marine life. Activities including feeding, snorkeling, and conservation education. Though it might not be a big bucket list item, if you're a fan of turtles, they truly are everywhere here.

How to Navigate Grand Cayman Efficiently
There are not great public transporation options on Grand Cayman. Instead, opting for a taxi from your hotel is the easiest form of transport. You can also call the taxi number to request a taxi from anywhere on the island to return to your resort or for convenience if you're staying in an Airbnb.
Booking your activities through a tour operator ensures you'll get the most relaxed atmosphere and local tips. I recommend the following tours via Get Your Guide, otherwise your hotel may have typical water sporting actvities, etc.
Tours via Get Your Guide
As always, you can use my discount code with GYG: JULESANDERSON5 for 5% any bookings. while I do recieve commission, I do actually take the get your guide bookings myself & only share experiences I think others will love!
